Building The Base
A conservatory is a built extension to your home that you can expect to enjoy for many years. As a result, deep solid foundations are essential - so inevitably while we work your garden will look like a building site. However, we are careful, accountable builders and you will be given the name and number of your foreman in advance. Please call him on his mobile, if you'd like to make special arrangements or have any concerns before or during the building stage.
IN A NUTSHELL
What we'll do...
- Arrive on the right day.
- Send you a handy checklist to help you clear the area and prepare for the builders.
- Keep any plants or paving requested by you on the first day.
- Dig and lay the foundations
- Lay brickwork to damp course level.
- Concrete the base.
- Build the dwarf walls.
- Fill in around the foundations with limestone chippings unless you tell us otherwise.
- Tidy up after ourselves.
- Take care to cause as little disruption as possible.
THE ESSENTIALS
How you can help
- Use the checklist we'll send to ensure you are fully prepared.
- Make sure access, power and water are available every day, even if you're not around.
- Call us with any special requirements before the builders arrive
- Tell us what you want to keep from the area to be cleared on the first day or move things out.
- Check you’re happy with progress every day and talk to the
foreman about any issues straightaway.
- If we are creating a new opening, take down curtains and cover up
soft furnishings and flooring in the connecting room.
- Be mindful of site safety – keep young children and
pets wellout of the way.
