Why Buy From Us

What is FENSA and why you should only deal with a FENSA registered company.
Since April 1st, 2002, it has been a legal requirement under Building Regulations for all replacement glazing fitted to your home to meet minimum performance standards. Anyone who installs replacement windows or doors must ensure, and in addition be able to prove, they comply with these current thermal performance standards. This is because of commitments made by the Government under the Kyoto Treaty to reduce energy loss from buildings and meet increasingly stringent national and global energy savings targets. The only way to do this is to use a FENSA registered installer and obtain a certificate either from the installer, FENSA themselves or the relevant Local Authority Building Control Department.

When you come to sell your property, your buyer’s solicitor will ask for evidence that any replacement glazing installed since April 1st 2002 complies with the Building Regulations. But don’t worry, because as a FENSA registered installer, Planet is responsible for making sure that the products that are fitted to your home comply with the rules. We will issue your certificate of compliance to you once the installation has been completed.
